Mud engineer, drilling fluids engineer HDD

We are looking for mud engineers and people who want to be trained to become a mud engineer for horizontal directional drilling.

What is a mud engineer?

A mud engineer (correctly called a drilling fluids engineer, but most often referred to as the “mud man”) works on an oil well or gas well drilling rig, and is responsible for ensuring the properties of the drilling fluid, also known as drilling mud, are within designed specifications.

Prior to working on his own, he has been on a special training course, known as “mud school”, and often spends time working with a senior mud engineer to gain experience.

Your background

You have affinity with chemistry, preferrably at high school level and are not afraid to get your hands dirty and make long hours.

Salary

Your starting salary is 17,50 euro gross per hour. After 2 months of training, your salary will go up to 22,50 euro gross per hour.

On average, you will be working 11 hours per day
